Fertile Ground Treasurer Role
Fertile Ground is the premier professional graduate dance company for the North East. Fertile Ground (FG) is an innovative professional graduate dance company that emerged in 2013 as a new direction for Dora Frankel Dance Community Interest Company. It is for outstanding new dance graduates from the North East of England working with national and North East based choreographers. FG nurtures, challenges and inspires a new generation of North East dancers and wider audiences through its performances and outreach programmes.
You will join a friendly and dynamic trustee board, bringing an accountancy perspective to add to the skillset of the four trustees already appointed. Working with the Chair, Trustee Board and Artistic Director, you will support Fertile Ground in ensuring its financial security. This is a voluntary role. Reasonable out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
The Treasurer will:
■ have a background in accountancy and support Fertile Ground’s staff and trustees with its financial responsibilities
■ be familiar with budgets, pensions requirements and full cost recovery
■ be committed to clarity of financial presentation
■ ensure that Fertile Ground is, and will remain, solvent
■ avoid undertaking activities that might place Fertile Ground’s funds, assets or reputation at undue risk and use Fertile Ground’s funds only in furtherance of its objects.
